Perfect for adding a pop of color to any outfit, these earrings are not only cute but also beginner-friendly if you’re familiar with the basics of brick stitch. If you’re new to beading, don’t worry! Check out our beginner’s guide to brick stitch before diving in here—it covers all the essentials so you can confidently tackle this project. Grab your beads, and let’s get started on these juicy watermelon earrings!

For this project, you’ll need seed beads in size 10, specifically in dark green, lighter green, white, red, and black. These vibrant colors will bring your watermelon design to life! Of course, you’ll also require a beading needle and thread to assemble your earrings, along with earring hooks for wearing them. While jump rings are optional, I’ve included them in the earrings I made for added versatility. They provide a little extra movement to your finished piece.

Step 1

For the base row, we’ll use the ladder stitch technique, working with two beads at a time—this is called a double ladder stitch. This row consists of 11 columns of two dark green beads, as shown in the illustration. If you’re unfamiliar with this technique, click here to learn more!

Step 2

The next row uses a decrease brick stitch, but with two beads at a time. If you’re new to this technique, refer here for a quick guide. Follow the color pattern shown in the illustration!

Step 3

The remainder of the pattern can be found in the illustrations. The technique is similar, as we continue to decrease while moving upward to create the triangular shape of a sliced watermelon. Be sure to follow the color patterns shown in all the illustrations!
